Science Fiction

The following is something that I actually submitted to my university class. For context, we have to write these "Academic Journals" every week, responding to a question from the readings that have been assigned for that week. I'll let you guess whether or not you think I actually did the reading.

What I submitted earlier today:

"Well, after my meeting with [professor's name] about these analytical journals, I understand what I am supposed to do, and will do it perfectly. Now, I will proceed to write without answering or really even referencing the actual question...

I've never been a fan of science fiction, which I think is weird because it's just a bunch of implausible nonsense, and that's also how I describe my brain. Though maybe my brain is more similar to fantasy, but that's a genre I hate even more than science fiction, which I could definitely get into it, but that's not what this question asked. Anyway, science in general has never been my thing, and I already struggle enough to wrap my head around things that people are able to explain such as the internet, that when introducing a new concept that probably includes a lot of unexplained questions, my head becomes so swollen it almost explodes. When I'm watching anything, I do make an effort to suspend my disbelief, but I'm not great at it. I try to accept the rules of whatever universe is being put in front of me, but sometimes it gets hard to know where to draw the line. For example, on Saturday, I was watching an episode of Phineas and Ferb with my good buddy Maeve. In this episode two children built a roller derby arena in seemingly minutes. I am fine with that, it's been established in the universe of Phineas and Ferb that that is possible. However, while the race is going on, Phineas and his grandpa are commentating over the loud speaker and on the radio or something (it's not that clear). They are doing this from a booth within the arena, clearly intended for this exact purpose. So far, I am totally okay with everything going on. What bothers me about all this, is in the background of this scene, there is some framed art. If Phineas and Ferb built this arena in a matter of minutes, why would they have bothered finding art, maybe framing it, and mounting it to the wall of a room that nobody else is going to see? I would imagine that they probably had to rush and maybe cut some corners to meet their deadline, so why would they have spent the time hanging this?

Maeve says that I'm difficult person to watch stuff with."
